The Euroceptor Bypass Separator was designed to comply with the requirements of BSEN858 and appears on the Environment Agency list of compliant products for PPG3.

The carefully designed and constructed system of pipes, weirs and filters, in the Euroceptor, allows the first 10% of any rain storm to enter the main separation chamber where any hydrocarbon or sediment is separated and retained, whilst the clean water is allowed to pass through without restriction.

Any flow of more than the first 10%, deemed to be ‘clean’, is allowed to bypass the main chamber and pass through to the downstream drainage system unhindered.

It is designed specifically for use in large impermeable areas such as car parks, truck parks or airport aprons, where there is no storage or transfer of hydrocarbons and therefore  unlikely to be the possibility of significant spillage of pollutants. For areas where there is the storage of, or unloading of, large volumes of hydrocarbon or other possible pollutants, Full Retention Separators such as the SUPERCEPTOR should be considered.
